ATTN RAINBOWS:

Please Please Pleas call an emergency rainbow gathering

the DE-Soto- National Forest site of the MissinHippie Gatering is soooo close to all of those homless hungry thirsty people. What are Rainbows good at? Helping the needy. HELP the needy. If working kitchens will go to the site and feed there is already GOOD DRINKING WATER and a creek for bathing. SPRING WATER high gallons per minute flow, I KNOW I DUG IT MYSELF. There is parking for 100’s of busses, (roadside< 15 miles from paved road>) Camp shelby is nearby to help provide food for the masses.

YOU CAN DO THIS
this could be the RAINBOWS TIME TO PROVE ITSELF help the needy, homless, start a gathering to take in all these people, put them in the woods, there is spring water on site.

ONLY 30 Miles from GULF PORT one of the hardest hit areas. Please Please Please get your free food kitchens down there, dig in. The gatering in mississippi starts on jan 1. Why not set up now and help of people. there is no way theis will not work. Dont you look at the TV and say if Rainbow was in charge things would be running a lot smoother?

I AM SO VERY SERIOUS

e-mail this to every RAINBOW you know, YOU CAN HELP SAVE LIVES, how hard is it to have a gathering? Expecially on such a perfect siteith CLEAN DRINKING WATER and a creek to wash in. Thousands of acres of woods for homless people.

Come on folks, thoughts? ideas? People in the hard hit areas will be displaced for a while if they are planning on returning.

we think it’d be a great idea to get some mini Emergency Rainbow Gatherings going near all the hard hit areas. even if we can’t get away, we’d be willing to help support folks with a bit of green energy. There’s also the posibility that we might have kitchen equiptment to donate; depends on if the people storing the equiptment are willing to part with it & if someone can pick up the pots, pans, ect in Kansas

just got off the phone with huck from green circus. they are awaiting fuel on the side of the US Rt. 49 in brooklyn, ms, which is very near the location of the yearly missinhippie gathering. please note that the eyewall passed over this part of the de soto national forest and it will probably be completely inaccessible to vehicle traffic possibly for years due to fallen trees and washed out roads.

huck says they considered doing it rainbow style in the woods until they realized that no one has gas to drive to the woods and it’s too far to walk. as soon a they get some fuel, they intend to head for gulfport, ms, which has been virtually wiped off the map like much of the gulf coast from the la border to mobile, al.

the Granola Funk is carefully springing into action. we have established NOLA’s Ark, which plans to leave from Asheville sometime between sunday and tuesday. we have secured water tanks and may take water filters (although not sure if they’d be effective), propane and propane accessories, pots and coocery, and are working on loading my bus down with as much good rainbow food as possible to get down there and start feeding. but we will not be going to the woods. we have not decided on a destination because we don’t know where we can be most effective. but wherever we go, it will be done in fine Funk style (stage and all). while our greatest concern is for those who need help, we are being very careful to respect the situation and not become refugees ourselves.

for those in the area, NOLA’s Ark will host a benefit in Asheville this coming Thursday night. the best thing family who can’t leave to join the effort can do is to hold their own benefits and otherwise get together, thank the creator of their choice for their good fortune, pray for those less fortunate, and support the efforts of those on the ground however possible.

more info forthcoming as it becomes available. if you’re interested in involving yourself in NOLA’s Ark, please email me privately at pronoid...@excite.com.

Most Rainbow folks don’t have much money to donate to the refief efforts, and the large organizations are only accepting money for several good reasons. Therefore, the best option is to find a small church or organization in your local community--especially if you are in one of the surrounding states--that is accepting food and clothing, and needing volunteers. Here in Oklahoma City the Victory House Church has a transition house for prisoners which they have converted to a hurricane relief house. All of the rooms have already been emptied of prisoners. They are the only organization in Oklahoma City, as of today, that is accepting food and clothing. The place is already filling up with food and cloths which will be moved to another location to make room for people that will be ariving from the coast. One family is already here, and a bus load is arriving tonight. Also, they can probably use volunteers. So, as a Rainbow person, I prefer this more grassroots approach over large organizations. There are plenty of people with extra money they can give to those groups. The smaller organizations get very little publicity, and they fit our lifestyle much better.     Prairie Spirit

Go Prince of Hippies (huck),
!!!!

I really need to talk to him in person now, tell him bin laden needs his phone number, and please e-mail it to me. I understand that fuel is a problem, but if we can get a gaurenteeed flow of hippie energy to the area, bringing in fuel food and supplies to the site, (imagine a great funnel), remind him of the nice fresh water out there, and they don’t have to take on a thousand refugees, but if they have a support vehicle and enough fuel they can take in a family or two.

Gulf Port is in BAD SHAPE, and may be too close to the epicenter. They will be able to feed I am sure, but not provide shelter. I need more info.

A friend who’s been to gatherings with me alerted me to this thread (thanks :).

I agree with Missin’Hippie... that this is an opportunity to demonstrate the value of Rainbow skills to the USA public willing to listen without bias. Unbiased people do exist, including some judges that rule on petty court cases of Rainbows unconstitutionally charged with illegal gathering.

Demonstrating for everyone interested how to do primitive camping and survival skills is an important element of national homeland security, having nothing to do with the government. But can Rainbows actually help Mississippi or Alabama in such a short time? Preparing for Gatherings takes up to a year when people don’t have much money.

Clearly New Orleans city relief is a task for the government to handle, except maybe for helping the most impoverished refugees who have no place to go after being evacuated to Baton Rouge or random highway underpasses. Mr “compassionate conservative” President Bush has announced a shoot looters on sight policy even for people who take water and food to survive, so LEOs won’t hesitate to fire on hippies suspected of being troublemakers. Don’t put yourself in that kind of situation, or risk a “Looting/rioting Rainbow Hippie Shot by National Guard” headline.

The problems with actually helping the Mississippi-Alabama gulf coast are at least threefold:

(1) The technical problems of getting fuel and supplies into the gulf coast area.

(2) Not irritating locals or government who don’t want Rainbow help.

(3) Skillfully working media publicity so Rainbows get credit for whatever gets done correctly.

The truth is that Rainbows are dependent on gasoline distribution and emergency medical help just like everyone else. (As I last heard old news, there’s still a $2000 unpaid hospital bill in Colorado.)

I heard that the state of Indiana sent the largest out of state national guard force to Mississippi, and the Indiana governor told them not to become part of the problem. As a result, they are hauling their own fuel, guarded by a hazardous liquids specialist.

The probably legal way for civilian Rainbows to haul fuel, is with extra gas tanks mounted in trunk space. Obviously it takes time to safely construct such tanker vehicles, as well as a lot of cash to fill them.

The good news is that the gasoline crunch may be easing, as all the 6 to 8 gulf coast refineries affected are reported back into partial production. Gas prices have already fallen about 30 cents from the peak last week. The many undamaged gas stations north of the storm surge across highway 90 and the CSX railroad tracks may already be getting resupplied. There should some information on available gas supplies and prices at
http://www.mississippigasprices.com/index.aspx
That site says Mississippi gas prices all over the state range from $2.45 to $3.35/gallon.

Not irritating the locals or government probably begins with coordinating relief through the local churches, rather than any government authorities. With church backing, the sheriff and deputies will usually back off of their normal bias against out of towner hippies.

Rainbow has a connection with all religions, including many independent Christian preachers. Gatherings have never failed to welcome them. I advise focalizers to mention that connection while introducing themselves to local gulf coast church ministers. Whether or not you personally believe in an all-powerful god in the sky, a less omnipotent God clearly does exist within the minds of the network of believers, similar to the Hindu belief of God within. Local ministers want to hear that Rainbow focalizers have a connection to that believers’ network, and in fact, you do have that connection.

If local ministers just don’t want any Rainbow help, be polite and ask them who else might want it. Or like the Biblical letters of Paul advised, stamp the dust off of your feet, and move on to the next community. If locals just won’t accept any people help, work on clearing public roads of debris and filling holes to make the roads passable.

If Rainbow relief actually happens this time, be sure and take photos of Rainbows doing things like clearing roads. Any photos of Rainbows helping people should not show victims in a personally identifiable way without their permission. These photos should be posted on Rainbow web sites for reporters to look at when publicizing future Gatherings.

It was controversial in a.g.r, but when Karen Zirk focalized Gathering publicity in newspapers for the last couple of years, some good things started happening to the family. For example, one town put up a Welcome Rainbow Gathering sign, and I never heard tell of that happening before.

Some brothers and sisters clearly don’t like playing this Babylon publicity game, especially due to the implied “we leaders” aspect of it. I look at it this way. Good publicity is worth cash money value in terms of what USA citizens are willing to give in goods and services to the generally impoverished Rainbow Family. Most of us as individuals don’t like the way money is manipulated to make the poor poorer, but as individuals we all have to use money.

Showing followers the picture minted on a coin, Jesus said “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s”, meaning if you use Caesar’s convenient public money service, you have to pay some of it to Caesar in taxes. Like money, I think media publicity exists with or without Rainbow’s approval. If the Rainbow family does not want bad publicity resulting in more LEO harassment, the Babylon media empire requires paying the equivalent of taxes in good publicity.

Being realistic, maybe this Katrina hurricane disaster is a wake up call to focalize and be ready the next time. It makes a lot of sense that Rainbows should be an alternative Red Cross for the poorest people, that even the middle class Red Cross finds to be too “heavy lifting”, as social workers term it. Forming good relations now with the Red Cross, means they could help supply Rainbow relief efforts to assist the needs of people who aren’t middle class, and don’t have homes, jobs, bank accounts, or even family to go back to after a disaster.

Since Rainbow isn’t an organized church (or organized anything), there aren’t any legal problems with Red Cross and other agencies redistributing government supplied goods and services to a specific religion, though no doubt they will initially raise other objections.

Seeing the glass half full of hope for the national future of the Rainbow Family, I hope this helps,

The impression I got was they might be impassable, but youve got a chainsaw right? I’m doing what I can, when they dig in, I will contact Grandma and Grampa. I also plan on contacting the Krishnas, and Jesus camp. The message said fuel was an issue, I don’t know if the power is on, or if the pumps are running, so anyone who heads that way should bring fuel water and food enough to share. I might have a 318 motor to donate in souix city. When they get dug in, I will try to rais some money in my local area, and send what I can. i don’t know what else to do right now, untill Green Circus (and UPO) get seeded somewhere, and I get a report on conditions. E-mail me, if you want, Bruce, and I’ll see if I can help you get mobile. I heard from Little Hawk, when he had a cell phone in Ithaca. My wife siad she talked to a hitcher from the Ithaca gathering. Beobe said he might head this way afterwords, so I am expecting him, maybe Little Hawk, and who knows maybe Xtian and Jodie anytime soon. of course you are definatly invited too. There’s refugees coming in now to SLC in Utah and Bob and I want to take the kitchen near there if possible. We’ve contacted the Food Banks and government here to see if we’d be welcome or not. If not, we’re going to hand out flyers about the drum circle and hopefully they’re not all trapped with no transportation so they could come to it. I know there first thing I’d want to find when displaced to a new region is a sense of community. It must really suck to be displaced to a military base that had been, maybe still is, used for a minimum security prison or whateveryoucallit for those on work release who are locked down at night.

Please, if anyone in Utah wants to help and reads this, email me.

Well, heading toward NO is not the smartest thing to do... since the city is under lockdown... nobody in, nobody out.

How about a gathering of the tribes ?? bring the people into the woods... show them what it’s all about.

PLUS, watching the local weather on the news... they say there are 2 more storms brewing out in the waters... and the season still has 8 weeks to go before it ends... and that we could expect at least 4 more storms.

Right now the strongest are Nate and Ophelia... and is heading for Jacksonville... and there is one in the Gulf near Tampico... with rotation.

Well, gotta head to Wally world for cat food.

They want skilled people becuz your credentials will most likely be checked by the Government... so if you the average Joe Schmoe pot smoking hippie don’t show up.

First lie and tactic: There is no NRMT and Plunker is not the president. But this convenient lie helps set the scorn that is to follow...

> > HELP...
> “WOLF” cried the little boy... BTW, ever hear of the saying “Too many cooks spoil the soup” ??

Ever hear of folks hungry and homeless?? Ever hear of folks who’s desire is to unselfishly want to help others?? Ever see what happens when the two get together??

> > ********A call is being made for anyone inthe area, and/or skilled, repeat skilled, availble people to come to this Site...
> They want skilled people becuz your credentials will most likely be checked by the Government... so if you the average Joe Schmoe pot smoking hippie don’t show up.

Lie and tactic number two: spread some paranoia in order to discourage folks from wanting to help.

> > the **SITE WILL BE ANNOUNCED WITHIN NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...
> NOTE: a permit will most likely be signed for this.

Lie and tactic number three: Bring up the possiblility of a permit being signed in order to discourage even more people from wanting to help.

> At first while reading this I thought Stubbie was writing it with all the spelling errors... boy, Mr. Adams is getting sloppy in his old age.

Lie and tactic number four: demean and call into question certain individuals who are working on this effort.

> > ****obviously, persons wil have to make their own way to the area.. bring good, tools, positive vibes... etc...
> And as much money as possible... the NRMT has to make a profit off this somehow.

This is a repeat from lie number one combined with the put down of lie number four, using the paranoia from lie number two.

> > ********please stand-by... get ready to go, those of you who can...
> Sorry I won’t be able to make it... got other things to do.

If you can’t put your energies into anything positive, but sure you can lie and demean the efforts of others. This is tactic number six.

> > **AND PLEASE FOLKS, PLEASE RALLY TO THIS CALL... Rainbow et. al. can/will make a real, good, positive contribution to helping folks get through the chaos...
> READ = Rainbow Inc... can’t hardly hear about A-Camp showing up.

Lie and tactic number seven: combining the rainbow lie of number one with the paranoia of lie number two and vola! You get the A-camp threat!

> > ********** and prayers are welcome...
> I’ll pray for the people whom you will be selling out this time.

Using the lie of number one combined with the scorn of lie number six.

> > ******a bank account, mailing address... rendezvous SITE**will all be announced within next couple of days...
> Gotta fill them Rainbow Inc. coffers

Lie number one - repeated for a desired effect.

> > ********PEOPLE GET READY! TIMES THEY ARE CHANGING... RAINBOW HELP IS> NEEDED AND BEING APPRECIATED...
> Boy, am I glad I do not belong to this money grubbing cult.

This actually is lie number seven, combined with lie number two.

> > ********love you,
> EEEWWWW, now I feel dirty... gotta take a shower

No,i feel dirty reading your lies, put downs, and jealous behavior.

> > ******************Barry, plunker, Montana, Rainbow Family Tribe

The existence of the “NRMT” was fed to you by Forest Service personel, and spread by a group of liars on this NG. But helping others obviously is not your concern - just putting down the efforts of others with your lies and tactics. i’m proud of the efforts being done by our Family to help those who need help at this moment. have you ever thought that the gov. will have to condone it, by giving a permit? never happen anyway, as the forest roads are mostly washed out, as reported in an earlier thread if ya ever read things.and survivors will not have a way to get into the forest as it is.    spiritrising

Thanks a lot everyone, now I gotta start another thread (careful you don’t get hit with the drips of sarcasm) Folks are trying to get infomation through! can y’all start a separate thread for opinions and such?

C

and don’t bother to reply to me on this thread cuz I’m not going to pay attention.. Folks are sick, hungry, homeless & dying; no time for opinions

[Tha Billdozer and bodhi continued their exchange in the same manner, joined by more people who didn't like one or the other or both, for another 48 posts, and that part is outside the main story line and not displayed here. Attention Rainbow Family and Kind Souls:

The Rainbow Family is mobilizing a New Orleans Relief Kitchen and Kids’ Safe Play Area (including entertainment, games, etc.) and needs volunteers and donations to help the relief work based out of Baton Rouge (home to 500,000 refugees). Opportunities include Food Service, First Aid including Naturopaths and Alternative Medicine, Counseling of all kinds including Crisis Counseling and Therapy. We also need people with carpentry skills and tools.

A main focus of the group is on creating a safe area for children and families to play together and have fun and have some sense of normalcy in an otherwise very hectic time.

So far we’ve received many generous pledges of assistance of all types.

People with skills in any of the above areas are welcome to come and work, also anyone able to help bring volunteers & kitchen equip. to the area. First caravan leaving from Asheville on Friday. Location to be announced in the next couple of days as details are worked out with the authorities.

WARNING: *This is not a Rainbow Gathering.* If you show up, be prepared to work hard in a kind and loving environment assisting your fellow beings. Blissininnies and alcoholics strenuously discouraged.

Rainbow Family volunteers have experience setting up kitchens from 30 years of practice at Rainbow Gatherings (annual spiritual camping in national forests) and the folks at the helm of this relief operation are kind, experienced at serving food and entertainment and medicine to thousands of folks a day, and are bringing a full array of kitchen equipment with volunteers from Granola Funk Theater’s Kitchen, Everybody’s Kitchen, quite possibly Phillipe from Kiddie Village, definitely Jane from C.A.L.M. (Center for Alternative Living Medicine) and other CALM volunteers, and the crew is in contact with the Louisiana Dept. of Emergency Preperaedness as well as local grassroots activists researching the needs, resrources and locations for relief work.

Feel free to forward this message widely. More info soon.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This message was brought to you by Pronoid Central (c). STILL absolutely, positively convinced that you are out to help us.

we are still scouting and checking out sites. when we have a location and systems in place we will announce what we need. at this point, please stay where you are and get your trip together. we expect all who come to help to be self=sufficient so if you need gas money, you will need to fundraise that yourself. we do not want to burden already stressed systems. the folks leaving tomorrow are some of the focalizers and they are bringing in to basic systems. other folks are not coming until these basic systems are in place. if you want to work with medical please contact either me at light...@yahoo.com or stone at bar...@mac.com

Hey this is lisa and loren. we talked to Dave, Green Circus Kitchen is set up in a lot on the westside of highway 49 in Gulfport. Right near a Kangarooo and Ava Jones real estate.

They are feeding people hot meals, then loading them up with clothes, canned food, diapers, toothbrushes and whatever else people need. Huck will only be set up for another week or so. Dave is trying to get the kitchen equipment down from up north to keep a kitchen going.

Imagine the red cross, the military and the local cops bringing stuff to a rainbow kitchen to help them feed people. This is the chance to make a difference in lots of lives. It is a chance to show that looks, and rough or soft exteriors do not have to define a person. This is what rainbow is about. This kitchen on the side of 49 in Gulfport needs family support.

I’m heading to Gulfport tomorrow for a few days, hope to see some family there.

Whats goin on Bruce?
Lisa
